My last post was a little down in my mood. I'm sorry for that. Nothing major has happened since I've written it, but I didn't want the last post as the top post... so I've decided to finally explain about Malana.
The series follows Malana. She is a princess but is not accostum to it. Her childhood friend is Kanoa who lives on the streets for the better part of his life. These are just to characters that I'm completely in love with, their ideals, reactions, emotions, outlook, and dept of the love they end up having for each other. They are both strong in trying to make a differences in the kingdom. Malana was born into royalty but envys the freedom of Kanoa because of his life's station. Throughout her journey she tries over and over again to get the simple life she "thinks" she wants, but each time she thinks she gets it, something or another pulls her back into the authority position she was born in. Kanoa was born into noblity, but his parents were injusticely killed in a battle leaving him to raise himself on the streets in the capitol city called Tessa. Kanoa is a Leanan Sidhe - which is a race of a fairy - and Malana is half though she doesn't know it until book 2 officially. The country is ordered to shun the magical races of the world, so they fall into ledgens. Then enters the enemy into the picture, Maynard. His main focus is to obtain full power of the kingdom and be called king. I don't want to reveal to much in his focus because it's not to be made full known until book 6. But first he tries through marriage of Malana to obtain the kingship, well that fails because Kanoa steps in. Malana eventually marries and has a child, but her husband gets killed and she later marries Kanoa. Kanoa takes on his new responibility and slowly uncovers his past in different phases. All throughout the series Maynard finds different ways to gain power, but is throlded by Kanoa and Malana, or some times Malana's brother, Kale who does later become king. By the time book 5 comes into play, a huge secret of Kanoa's is revealed and leaves Malana with the biggest choice in her life to make. After it's all said and done, They unlock the true mystery of the adventure and begin their quest that leads them to the final battle with Maynard.
Note: I'm only on book 5 right now. So some stuff is subject to still change and I've got a lot of editing to do before I even consider getting an angent (which I'd love to do one of these days.) so I can get it published.
At first it was just something that I could do to fill the bordem, but now I'm honestly wrapped up in the story and even carry a journel around with me so I can record what I'm doing in the book and ideals and facts that I'm not to yet. I've got drawings, maps, list, discriptions, extra material of the middle ages, and a layout for the remaining books. Book 5 was going to be the final, but I've got way to much to still right and get established that 5 books weren't enough... so now it's seven. So this is one of my top interest right now and has been for 4 and a half years now. I've got one co-worker reading it and her daughter has started on it, an english teacher read the first few chapters and she really liked it but school ended and I switched schools, my mom has just got the first couple of chapters on monday, and my house cleaning boss wants to read it and her kids do to. I was very protective of it at the start, but now I'm kinda letting go so others can give me their thoughts on it and give helpful feedback. There was a completely different outline I started with on book 1, but now I've got to go back and clear a lot of it to make it all fit again. I guess that's why it's called a rough draft.
That's my story. I've got seven or eight others in the works also, but they are all waiting paitently for their time to shine after the series is done.
