OFFICE WATER UPDATE

it's not turned into any water party, but the water droplets keep arriving dispite not having invited any of them. Today was round 3 of the flooded offices, more then monday. This time I got the fan from the warehouse and am using it to help. It's weird because the water is turned off but it's seems to be a fautly switch on the mens toliet. But I keep mopping away...

Back Again

I haven't posted anything in a while, so I will. Let's update on what I've been doing here recently. I started last friday at the YMCA. I start my days out now getting up at 4:30 am and going to the Y to do my workouts. Then I'm loving the traffic at 6:30ish going to Louisville. It's a whole lot less stressful when the "Jeff Gordens" haven't come out to play yet.

Being at work 45 mins early is also helpful. (esp. monday & today <- I'll get to that in a minute). I'm able to relax a bit and get some more down and pace it out better throughout the day. I started school on tuesday. Already the first thing I've notice in the difference between Ivy Tech and IUS is just the size. Ivy is one building. IUS has 6 buildings (not including the dorms or library). My classes are on Philiospy (?) and Economics. One class is on one end of the campus and the other is 5 buildings away, creating a bit of a problem of getting to the class within the 10 mins. gap, but I'll survive. The second thing I noticed was the class sizes. In one class there is over 30 students when at Ivy the most I had was about 15. That is different. One down fall is my last class doesn't get out until 8:45ish so it's making tuesdays & thrusdays will be long days.

family:
Well, they are all doing well right now. Except my dad who is going to have a broken heart today. One of his beloved hefers is getting put down today. He's been trying for three weeks to help her, but the meds. don't seem to work nor is anything we are doing for her. He said that if he sees no improvement by today then he'll put her out of her misery. So since she's still loosing weight and now she can't see, he called late last night and had my brother perpare the gun. Dad is very attached to his cattle and this is going to be very hard on him, even with him pulling the trigger.

Payton is doing well and coming up quickly on her 2 month old slot. I still can't get over how much she looks like Karie. It's just oddly funny. She has been able to raise her head on her own without troubles since her stay in Nortons. She can already roll over to her side and can grip hold of things. Give it a few more months and she'll skip the crawling/walking and go striaght to running.

Diet:
I'm still sticking with the veg diet and about finished with week 6. Exercising in the mornings has already helped and I've pushed through my barrier and now sitting on 10 pounds lost.

Work:
It's been an interesting week so far here. On monday, I finished at the Y dropped my bag off at the daycare and continued on to work feeling good. I got inside and noticed it felt stuffy. So I turned on the air. As I rounded the corner in the main room I heard "Splash." There was about a half an inch of water covering the floor in the center office room. Luckily none of the computers or printers were harmed. It took me 45 mins or better cleaning up the mess. My boss got in and turned the water off altogether. So all day we didn't have water while the walls were drying. He got brave and turned it back on about midafternoon on tuesday. Everything looked good, so we just thought maybe it was a backed up toliet, until today. I went into the room again and splash, splash went my feet. It's running from the mens bathroom to under the wall into the room. It was on monday running along the entire wall and getting into the women's (my) bathroom and into the front office room also. Today only took around 30 mins to clean so it wasn't that bad. The longest time was with the new mop that didn't know to absorb or not.

That's been it so far. I'm extremely tried from this week already and it's wednesday, but hey we get a 3 day weekend so it's something to look forward to.

P.S. looks like I'm assisting on sunday mornings in the young kids class with Stephan teaching.

update

Still no word on Payton that I know of. Karie & Stephen were suppose to find out on last thrusday. After a 3 hour wait in the doctors office, they were finally informed that the results weren't in yet. So they've been waiting on a phone call since. I really don't see a need to worry. Yes the disease is deadly, but it's suppose to be genitic and no one in our history has it nor in Stephens side either. We're all leaning on the most likely thing it is a one of those positive negative readings. Payton eats healthy, and uses a good number of dypers so we're not worry.

I registered for class last night. I'm taking an economics class and a philosophy class. Thanks to architectural degrees from Ivy, I don't ever have to take a math class again. My counsler said that there is more math that I've taking then was nessicary for an English degree and/or teaching degree. But, boy, IUS is huge. I was in three different buildings and on two different floors in two of the buildings. IVY Tech is one floor, one building. Big differences.

That all leads me to my bad week so far. Yesterday morning, I got to work and discovered the front door's key was missing. I searched my car, and purse. It was gone. My dad found it at home right outside in the gravel where I normally park. Corydon is a 45 minute + drive to where I work at. So it wasn't going to do us any good. Poor Dustin (our packer and draftsmen) and me were stuck outside for an hour before my boss finished his runs and came in. That was the start of it all. At lunch, the meal I brought in was horrible. I don't know if it was just in the freezer to long or what but it was gross. So I went to a gas station (trying to stay on my vegatrian diet) and got fried mushrooms. I was eating them and discovered different looking mushroom. I decided to eat it only to find out it was the skin from fried chicken. Since I haven't had any meat for 4 weeks now, I've been dealing with an upset stomach. Also a fever and a bit of light headedness. And I'm very very tried for some reason. Well, that brings me to the spot after IUS. I was walking out in the parking lot and as I approached my car I saw something that tipped it all off. My car had been hit. The back bumper on the passanger side had been hit so hard that the paint was gone down to the plastic. It didn't dent it, but flatten the corner piece. It was either at my cousins wedding on saturday in new albany (most likely) or a church or at the Fishers or at work by a co-worker or my moms daycare parking (after hours) or at my sisters house. There was no note, no phone number, no one to say anything about "hey I'm sorry I hit your car and messed up the back bumper." I don't care if they didn't want to pay for it, I just wanted someone to admit they did it rather then leaving it a huge surprise like they did. My brother still has left over paint from when he redid the hood, all I have to do is pay for the additive for the plastic, and he'll sand it down and redo it. Just a sorry note, is all I wanted.

Oh well, I try to keep telling myself. But I'm still a bit angry over it, and I'm still not feeling to well. So that's been my week so far. I'll post updates if it gets worst. Hopefully the Lord is going to strengthen me through these trials.

Tractor Pull

For Eric & Jennifer Huggins pictures scroll down.

video

I seriously wanted to leave Eric & Jennifers pictures up for a while, but I wanted to post these videos too. Saturday night was the annual tractor pull at Harrison County fair. It was great as always. My poor carmeras battery kept dying so I didn't get much. I'd have to say with the grand stand packed, and all the bleachers along the tack, the rest of the pit, and additional seating brough in by farmers and their gooseneck trailers - I'd say there was around 800 to 900ish people there. Ya'll know that's huge for Corydon. The first is a John Deere and below is a International. On my carmera it's a whole lot brighter, but with the whitw background it's dark. Sorry, about that. These were both filmed around 11ish pm. I left close to midnight but the pull continued to almost 3ish in the morning of sunday.

video

This one you can hear my brother and my cousin john talking. John was in charge of making sure the sled had enough dirt (weight) for each class of pulls. He states, "A tractor pull is really drag racing with weights." He still has his old humor.

Note: John was the one who witnessed his boss dying in a trench closapes back in january. This was the first time I had seen him in a good mood since.
